TLDR Vitiligo treatment requires a personalized mix of therapies to restore skin color and improve life quality.
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease characterized by depigmented skin patches, with its pathogenesis involving genetic factors, oxidative stress, and immune responses. The disease is diagnosed through clinical indicators and supported by various diagnostic tools. Treatment focuses on stopping disease progression and promoting repigmentation, using topical therapies like corticosteroids and JAK inhibitors, systemic options such as methotrexate and cyclosporine, and adjunctive methods including phototherapy and surgical grafting. An individualized, multimodal approach is crucial for effective repigmentation and improving patient quality of life.
