Adipose-Derived Stem Cell Secretome and Its Potential Role in the Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia

    Katarina Andjelkov, Aleksandra Korac, PhD
TLDR Adipose-derived stem cells may help treat hair loss.
The study investigated the secretome of adipose-derived stem cells in six male patients with early-stage androgenetic alopecia. Researchers found that levels of certain signaling proteins, such as Interleukin-6, Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor, and others, were significantly higher in the alopecia zone compared to other areas. These differences in protein expression could aid in developing therapeutic strategies for hair loss and provide insights into the etiology of androgenetic alopecia. The study highlighted the importance of further exploring the secretory proteome of adipose-derived stem cells in hair loss conditions.
