TLDR The review found that PRP is the most effective treatment for hair loss with few side effects.
The literature review assessed therapeutic strategies for androgenetic alopecia (AGA), examining 28 scientific articles from 2011 to 2017 and one from 1992. It discussed active ingredients like minoxidil, spironolactone, finasteride, B vitamins, organic silicon, and collagen, as well as procedures such as microneedling with PRP. The review highlighted the importance of early diagnosis and individualized treatment. It noted that while treatments like topical minoxidil and oral finasteride are effective, they require chronic use and have side effects, including psychological and sexual health issues. The review concluded that PRP was the most effective method for AGA with minimal side effects and improvements in hair thickness and follicle count. The response to treatments varied among patients, with some positive outcomes from combining minoxidil with finasteride and supplements. The review emphasized the need for personalized treatments and better diagnostic methods for satisfactory outcomes.
