TLDR Minoxidil, a hair loss treatment, may cause acne-like skin eruptions.
In 2016, a 32-year-old male patient was reported to have developed acneform eruptions after using a 5% Minoxidil/Aminexil solution for the treatment of his androgenic alopecia. The patient had been using the solution for one month when he presented with the skin condition. Alongside the topical solution, the patient was also taking Finpecia (Finasteride) 1mg once daily. The acneform eruptions were specifically noted on the patient's forehead. This case suggests that Minoxidil/Aminexil, commonly used for hair loss treatment, may have potential side effects such as acneform eruptions.
