TLDR Using barrier repair creams and light therapy improves acne treatment for those with sensitive skin.
This study on 170 Chinese subjects found that over 58% of acne patients also have sensitive skin, which is linked to increased transepidermal water loss, decreased epidermal thickness, and enlarged blood vessels. Two treatment groups were compared: one with oral isotretinoin and topical lincomycin gel, and another with additional topical barrier repair cream and light therapy. After 56 days, both groups showed significant reductions in acne lesions, but the combination treatment group had greater improvements in inflammatory and total lesions, as well as lower Investigator Global Assessment scores. The study highlights the importance of addressing both acne and skin sensitivity, recommending barrier repair creams and light therapy for enhanced treatment effectiveness.

A 25-year-old who started losing hair at 16 and reached almost NW7 by 20 saw hair regrowth using a regimen including dutasteride, minoxidil, nizoral, and a dermaroller, along with supplements like biotin, zinc, and omega-3. After initial success, they experienced shedding, added more supplements and treatments, and sought advice on whether to continue; responses encouraged them to persist as shedding is often part of the hair regrowth cycle.

community Why don’t more people use hair fibers?

in Product  527 upvotes 1 month ago
Hair fibers can effectively cover thinning hair when used with minoxidil and hairspray but require daily application and can be inconvenient in certain conditions. Some users prefer treatments like finasteride, dutasteride, microneedling, or wigs due to the maintenance and limitations of hair fibers.
