TLDR Photobiomodulation increased hair count in men with hair loss after 5 weeks, with no further increase after 10 weeks.
The study "Photobiomodulation Effectiveness in Treating Androgenetic Alopecia" by Ana Cláudia Scarpim, Alessandra Baptista, Daniel Souza Ferreira Magalhães, Silvia Cristina Nunez, Ricardo Scarparo Navarro, and Amanda Farage Frade-Barros, evaluated the effects of photobiomodulation (PBM) on 25 men aged 20-54 with Androgenetic alopecia (AGA), a condition causing progressive hair loss. The participants were treated with a red low-level laser twice a week for 10 weeks. Evaluations were made before any intervention, after 5 weeks, and after 10 weeks. The results showed a significant increase in hair count between the start and after 5 weeks, and between the start and after 10 weeks. However, there was no statistical difference in hair count between 5 weeks and 10 weeks.
