Glossary Wood's lamp examination

A Wood's lamp examination, also known as a black light examination, involves using a special ultraviolet (UV) light to illuminate the skin and hair. This diagnostic tool helps identify fungal and bacterial infections, pigmentation disorders, and other skin abnormalities by causing affected areas to fluoresce in distinctive colors.
