    process of cutting thin tissue slices for microscopic examination

    Tissue sectioning, also known as microtomy, is the process of cutting thin slices of biological tissue for examination under a microscope. This technique is crucial for studying the detailed structure of tissues, diagnosing diseases, and conducting research. The thin sections, typically only a few micrometers thick, allow for the visualization of cellular and subcellular components when stained and viewed under a microscope.
