October 2023 in “Cosmetics” The study developed effervescent cleansing tablets containing asiatic-acid-loaded solid lipid microparticles (AASLMs) using a hot emulsification method. The AASLMs showed a high entrapment efficiency of 92.04% and were compatible with other excipients, as confirmed by FTIR spectra. The tablets demonstrated good flow properties and effective cleansing efficacy in ex vivo tests, outperforming water. However, stability tests revealed that the tablets were not stable under high temperature and humidity, with significant decreases in asiatic acid content and the appearance of brown spots after 3 months of storage at 40 ± 2 °C/75% RH. It is recommended to avoid storing the tablets at high temperatures.
