This case study describes a patient with discoid lupus erythematosus whose scalp lesions progressed despite treatment, with findings suggesting inclusion cysts and comedones as part of primary or secondary changes.

In this case report, a combination treatment of intralesional triamcinolone acetonide, oral acitretin, and topical clobetasol propionate showed effectiveness in reducing symptoms of Graham-Little-Piccardi-Lasseur syndrome in one patient over two months, with no new areas of hair loss observed.

This study found that combining a potent steroid with a vitamin D analogue may offer more convenient treatment for localized alopecia areata than using a superpotent steroid alone, with comparable efficacy but fewer side effects.
