Transdermal Delivery, also known as Transdermal Drug Delivery, is a method of administering medications through the skin. This system allows drugs to be absorbed directly into the bloodstream, providing a controlled release over time. Common examples include nicotine patches for smoking cessation and hormone replacement therapy patches. This method can improve patient compliance and reduce gastrointestinal side effects compared to oral medications.
