diagnostic procedure involving gentle removal of skin for examination

Skin scraping is a diagnostic procedure where a small sample of skin is gently scraped off using a scalpel or similar tool. This sample is then examined under a microscope to identify the presence of mites, fungi, bacteria, or other pathogens that could be causing skin conditions such as infections or rashes. This method is commonly used in dermatology to diagnose conditions like scabies or fungal infections.
