Sertoli cells are specialized cells found in the testes that play a crucial role in supporting and nurturing developing sperm cells. They create a protective environment, provide nutrients, and help regulate the process of spermatogenesis, which is the production of sperm. These cells also form the blood-testis barrier, which protects germ cells from harmful substances and immune system attacks.
