    Virilism refers to the development of male physical characteristics in females, often due to an excess of androgens (male hormones) in the body. This can result in symptoms such as increased body hair (hirsutism), deepening of the voice, and changes in muscle mass. It is commonly associated with conditions like polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or adrenal gland disorders.
