research Laser-Assisted Drug Delivery for the Treatment of Androgenetic Alopecia: Ablative Laser Fractional Photothermolysis to Enhance Cutaneous Topical Delivery of Platelet-Rich Plasma — With or Without Concurrent Bimatoprost and/or Minoxidil
The study explored the use of ablative laser fractional photothermolysis to create vertical uniform channels in the scalp, enhancing the delivery of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for treating androgenetic alopecia. This method aimed to ensure uniform placement of PRP in the dermis, reducing the need for multiple painful injections. Additionally, the technique could improve the topical application of bimatoprost and minoxidil. The conclusion suggested that laser-assisted drug delivery of PRP, with or without bimatoprost and/or minoxidil, should be considered to effectively stimulate hair growth by targeting the dermis where hair follicles are located.
