Gastrointestinal Polyposis Syndromes (GI Polyposis Syndromes) are a group of disorders characterized by the development of multiple polyps in the gastrointestinal tract. These polyps can be benign (non-cancerous) but have the potential to become malignant (cancerous) over time. Common examples include Familial Adenomatous Polyposis (FAP) and Peutz-Jeghers Syndrome, both of which are genetic conditions that increase the risk of colorectal and other types of cancer.
