    GlossaryFacial Aging

natural changes in skin, muscles, and bones over time

Facial aging, also known as age-related facial changes or facial senescence, refers to the natural process by which the skin, muscles, fat, and bones of the face undergo changes over time. This includes the development of wrinkles, loss of skin elasticity, volume loss in the cheeks and temples, and changes in facial contours due to the resorption of bone and redistribution of fat. These changes are influenced by a combination of genetic factors, environmental exposures, and lifestyle choices.
