    GlossaryCreatinine

waste product from muscle metabolism filtered by kidneys

Creatinine is a waste product formed from the normal breakdown of muscle tissue. It is filtered out of the blood by the kidneys and excreted in urine. Measuring creatinine levels in blood and urine can help assess kidney function, as elevated levels may indicate impaired kidney function or kidney disease.
