This study investigates the role of myeloid cells in skin wound healing and hair follicle regeneration. Using double immunofluorescent staining and cell tracing techniques, the researchers found that CD11b-positive myeloid cells can convert into keratinocytes, contributing to re-epithelialization. In vivo experiments with M-CSF-stimulated myeloid cells from mouse splenocytes confirmed their ability to transform into epithelial cells and participate in hair follicle regeneration. This work underscores the significant contribution of myeloid cells in wound repair and hair follicle regeneration in mice.
