Patients received 400 mg of calcium pantothenate daily, with no additional therapies except a bland covering paste. The treatment showed improvement in the inflammatory phase of the disease, especially in subacute cases, and was well-tolerated without adverse reactions, unlike other treatments such as sodium paramino-benzoate. In some cases, therapy was paused to assess its impact, and calcium lactate was tested as a substitute without success. Only one patient developed new lesions during the treatment, and some required additional phenol cauterization.
