    A biomarker, or biological marker, is a measurable indicator of some biological state or condition. It can be a molecule found in blood, other body fluids, or tissues that signals a normal or abnormal process, or a condition or disease. For example, certain biomarkers can help diagnose diseases, monitor the progress of a condition, or evaluate the effectiveness of a treatment.
