immune system attacks skin, causing blisters and erosions

Autoimmune Bullous Diseases, also known as Autoimmune Blistering Diseases, are a group of rare disorders where the immune system mistakenly attacks the skin and mucous membranes, leading to the formation of blisters and erosions. These conditions, which include pemphigus and bullous pemphigoid, result from autoantibodies targeting specific proteins that hold skin cells together, causing the layers of the skin to separate and form blisters.
