Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) is a biodegradable and biocompatible polymer commonly used in medical and pharmaceutical applications, such as drug delivery systems and tissue engineering. It gradually breaks down into lactic acid and glycolic acid, which are naturally metabolized by the body, making it an ideal material for temporary implants and controlled-release medications.
