Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age, characterized by irregular menstrual periods, excess androgen levels, and polycystic ovaries. It can lead to symptoms such as weight gain, acne, and hair thinning or loss (alopecia), and is associated with an increased risk of developing type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
