Tinea Versicolor, also known as Pityriasis Versicolor, is a common fungal infection of the skin caused by the yeast Malassezia. It leads to small, discolored patches of skin that may be lighter or darker than the surrounding area, often appearing on the trunk and shoulders. This condition is not contagious and can be treated with antifungal medications.
