Glossary Osteosarcoma

Osteosarcoma, also known as osteogenic sarcoma, is a type of cancer that originates in the bone-forming cells, leading to the production of immature bone. It is most commonly found in the long bones of the arms and legs, particularly around the knee, and primarily affects teenagers and young adults. This aggressive cancer can cause pain, swelling, and fractures, and often requires a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and sometimes radiation therapy for treatment.
