Nitroglycerin, also known as Glyceryl trinitrate (GTN), is a medication commonly used to treat angina (chest pain) and heart failure. It works by relaxing blood vessels, which increases blood flow and oxygen to the heart, thereby reducing its workload. In a different context, nitroglycerin is also known for its use as an explosive in construction and demolition.
