originate from the neural crest and can become various cell types

Neural Crest Stem Cells (NCSCs) are a type of multipotent stem cell that originate from the neural crest, a transient structure in vertebrate embryos. These cells have the remarkable ability to differentiate into a diverse range of cell types, including neurons, glial cells, melanocytes, and even some types of connective tissue. This versatility makes them crucial for the development of various tissues and organs, and they are a significant focus in regenerative medicine and developmental biology research.
