    GlossarySubclinical Hypothyroidism (Mild Hypothyroidism)

condition with elevated TSH but normal thyroid hormone levels

Subclinical Hypothyroidism (SCH) is a condition where the thyroid gland is underactive, but the symptoms are not obvious. Blood tests show elevated levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) while the levels of thyroid hormones (T3 and T4) remain normal. This condition can be a precursor to overt hypothyroidism and may require monitoring or treatment, especially if symptoms develop or if there are risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
