MEK inhibitors, also known as MEKis or MEK1/2 inhibitors, are a class of drugs that block the activity of the MEK enzymes (MEK1 and MEK2), which are part of the MAPK/ERK signaling pathway. This pathway is crucial for cell division and survival, and its dysregulation is often implicated in various cancers. By inhibiting MEK, these drugs can help to slow down or stop the growth of cancer cells.
