Laparoscopic Ovarian Drilling (LOD) is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to treat women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) who are resistant to other fertility treatments. During the procedure, a surgeon makes small incisions in the abdomen and uses a laparoscope to puncture the ovaries with a laser or electrocautery needle, which can help restore normal ovulation by reducing the number of small cysts on the ovaries.
