October 2024 in “Tikrit Journal of Pure Science” This study investigated the expression of the Geh gene, responsible for lipase enzyme production, in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from acne patients. Out of 130 swabs collected from patients at Tikrit Teaching Hospital, 50 samples (38.4%) were identified as S. aureus. The Geh gene expression was analyzed in 10 isolates using RT-PCR, revealing expression levels ranging from 1.5 to 7.2, with a mean folding of 4.2. The findings suggest that the lipase enzyme, produced due to high Geh gene expression, plays a significant role in the pathogenesis of S. aureus in acne patients.
