      Prostaglandins (PGs) are crucial in the immunomodulation of the nervous system, impacting neuroinflammation, neuroprotection, and neurodegeneration. They play dual roles, with some PGs exacerbating conditions like stroke and multiple sclerosis by promoting inflammation, while others offer neuroprotective effects. In diseases such as Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, PG dysregulation is linked to disease progression. PGs also modulate immune responses in autoimmune neurological diseases and have complex roles in cerebrovascular diseases. Despite their therapeutic potential, the complexity of PG pathways and reliance on rodent models present challenges, necessitating further research to develop effective treatments.
