    Saw Palmetto, also known as Serenoa repens, is a type of palm plant whose berries are often used in supplements aimed at promoting prostate health and potentially reducing hair loss. It is believed to work by inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-reductase, which converts testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone linked to both benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and androgenic alopecia (male pattern baldness).
