specialized fat that generates heat through non-shivering thermogenesis

Brown Adipose Tissue (BAT), also known as brown fat, is a type of fat found in the body that is specialized in generating heat through a process called non-shivering thermogenesis. Unlike white fat, which stores energy, brown fat contains a high number of mitochondria that burn calories to produce heat, helping to regulate body temperature and maintain energy balance.
