medication that blocks male hormones to treat various conditions

Cyproterone, often referred to as Cyproterone acetate or Androcur, is a medication that acts as an anti-androgen. It works by blocking the effects of male hormones (androgens) in the body, which can be useful in treating conditions like severe acne, hirsutism (excessive hair growth), and certain types of prostate cancer. It is also used in hormone therapy for transgender women.
