Body-Focused Repetitive Behaviors (BFRBs) are a group of related disorders characterized by repetitive self-grooming behaviors that can cause physical damage. These behaviors include hair pulling (trichotillomania), skin picking (dermatillomania), and nail biting (onychophagia). They are often performed in response to stress or anxiety and can lead to significant distress and impairment in daily functioning.
