These cells are small, round, and have a high nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio, meaning their nuclei take up most of the cell's volume. They are crucial for skin regeneration and repair, as they can divide and differentiate into other types of skin cells. In pathology, the presence of basaloid cells can be significant, as they are often seen in certain types of skin cancers, such as basal cell carcinoma.
