This study found that intramuscular anti-IFN-γ significantly stabilized and promoted hair regrowth in alopecia areata patients with patchy, progressive hair loss, whereas those with total baldness showed more limited improvement.
This case report describes successful and sustained treatment of alopecia universalis with rituximab in a patient also diagnosed with dermatomyositis, suggesting a potential role for B cells in its pathogenesis.
Hair loss may be influenced more by inflammation, microbiome imbalances, and gut health than DHT. Treatments discussed include minoxidil, finasteride, RU58841, fecal microbiota transplants, and JAK inhibitors.
Prolactin may contribute to hair loss, but targeting its receptor won't cure androgenetic alopecia. ABS-201 could be a useful alternative or adjuvant therapy, similar to JAK inhibitors, but not more effective than HMI-115.
