research Association of Hirsutism and Anthropometric Profiles With Sexual Dysfunction and Anxiety Levels in Infertile Indonesian Women With Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
The study examined 71 infertile Indonesian women with PCOS to explore the relationship between hirsutism, anthropometric profiles, sexual dysfunction, and anxiety levels. It found no significant correlation between hirsutism or obesity and sexual dysfunction. However, sexual dysfunction was linked to higher anxiety levels, and there was a significant positive correlation between hirsutism severity and anxiety. The study suggests that while hirsutism does not directly impact sexual dysfunction, it may contribute to anxiety, indicating a complex interplay of physical and psychological factors in PCOS-related sexual dysfunction. Further research is needed to understand these relationships better. Limitations include a small sample size and reliance on self-reported data.
