Thorough clinical examination is crucial for diagnosing unusual alopecia.

In this study, veterinary examinations of 150 domestic canines and felines revealed that M. canis was the predominant dermatophyte, affecting 9 cats and 9 dogs, with dogs showing more severe lesions and higher neutrophil counts in the cytological analysis.

This case report describes a 6-year-old Middle-Eastern girl with skin lesions, scaling, discoloration, and patchy alopecia, diagnosed with acute granuloma annulare, alopecia areata, and dermatitis. The treatment, including topical minoxidil, betamethasone, and triamcinolone acetonide injections, showed modest effectiveness for alopecia.

This case report highlights that tumid lupus erythematosus should be considered in the differential diagnosis of annular scalp lesions with non-scarring alopecia, emphasizing histopathological examination for accurate diagnosis.
