The dog presented with persistent alopecia, scaling, erythema, and pruritus. Diagnosis was confirmed through microscopic examination, culture, and punch biopsy. Antifungal susceptibility testing (AFST) guided the selection of posaconazole, leading to marked clinical improvement without adverse effects. The report underscores the diagnostic challenges of recurrent dermatophytosis and suggests that AFST-guided treatment strategies, including posaconazole, may effectively manage infections unresponsive to standard therapies.
