    Adjuvant therapy, also known as adjunct therapy, refers to additional treatment given after the primary treatment to maximize its effectiveness. For example, in cancer care, this might involve chemotherapy, radiation, or hormone therapy following surgery to eliminate any remaining cancer cells and reduce the risk of recurrence.
