TLDR Women with female pattern hair loss often underestimate how severe it is.
Women with female pattern hair loss tend to underestimate the severity of their hair loss, according to a study of 74 women with FPHL. The Women's Alopecia Severity Scale was used to measure the severity of hair loss, and the results showed that women on the waiting list for treatment underestimated the severity of their hair loss compared to their clinicians' ratings. The study suggests that healthcare providers should educate patients about the condition and its treatment options, and that more research is needed to better understand the psychological impact of female pattern hair loss.
