TLDR Bioengineered tooth germ can restore whole teeth in dogs.
This study demonstrated the potential for whole-tooth restoration by transplanting bioengineered tooth germ in a postnatal canine model. The bioengineered tooth, created from permanent tooth germ cells, successfully erupted into the jawbone and functioned similarly to a natural tooth. This research marked a significant step forward in whole-organ replacement therapy, suggesting practical applications for future clinical regenerative medicine.
