TLDR Vitamin D is linked to hair health, but more research is needed for its use in treating female hair loss.
Vitamin D is important for hair follicle development and differentiation, and low levels are linked to various types of alopecia, including Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL). However, there is not enough evidence to consistently recommend vitamin D analogues for FPHL treatment. More research is needed to determine effective supplementation regimens and the benefits of topical vitamin D analogues.
