TLDR Higher Vitamin-D levels may help treat certain types of hair loss.
The study aimed to determine the role of Vitamin-D in androgenic alopecia (AA) and telogen effluvium (TE). It included 187 participants (140 female, 47 male) divided into three groups: 58 with AA, 71 with TE, and 58 healthy controls. Results showed a statistically significant difference in Vitamin-D levels between the AA group and both the TE and control groups (p=0.01), but no significant difference between the TE group and the control group (p=0.61). The findings suggested that higher Vitamin-D levels were associated with AA, indicating potential new treatment options for hair loss.
