TLDR Hydrocortisone ointment effectively improved eyebrow skin and hair in a 10-year-old.
A 10-year-old patient with ulerythema ophryogenes, characterized by erythema, follicular papules, scars, and partial alopecia in the eyebrow areas, showed significant improvement after treatment with 2.5% hydrocortisone ointment. Previous treatments, including salicylic acid, resorcinol, mercurials, and ultraviolet therapy, were ineffective. Within three weeks of starting hydrocortisone, erythema diminished, and by September, lanugo hairs appeared. By October, these hairs had thickened and darkened, indicating a positive response to the treatment.
