TLDR Trichoscopy is a tool for detailed examination of hair and scalp diseases.
The 2015 document "Trichoscopy Simplified" discussed the use of trichoscopy, a tool for examining the hair and scalp, similar to dermoscopy for skin surfaces and lesions. The paper aimed to simplify and summarize the main trichoscopic findings of common hair and scalp disorders encountered in dermatology clinics. Trichoscopy allows for detailed examinations and measurements of hair shafts at a higher resolution than the naked eye can see. It can assess active scalp diseases and identify specific signs of certain scalp and hair diseases, such as yellow dots, dystrophic hairs, cadaverized (black dots), white dots, and exclamation mark hairs. At the time, trichoscopy was considered the newest frontier for diagnosing hair and scalp diseases.

TE (telogen effluvium) is often misunderstood and is triggered by severe stress or trauma, not minor daily inconveniences. Most hair loss cases are due to male pattern baldness (AGA), and treatments like Minoxidil and finasteride can help.
