TLDR Trichoscopy is a useful tool for diagnosing female pattern hair loss.
The study aimed to evaluate trichoscopic features in females with patterned hair loss, enrolling 37 cases. Trichoscopic examination revealed that the most common findings were peri pilar sign and hair diameter variability, each observed in 62.2% of cases. Other notable features included white dots (40.5%), scalp pigmentation (45.9%), and focal atrichia (40.5%). The study concluded that trichoscopy is a valuable non-invasive tool for diagnosing female pattern hair loss, as clinical examination alone is often insufficient.
